4 Days Double Gorilla Trek Bwindi

4 Days Double Gorilla Trek, Bwindi National Park.

The 4 Days Bwindi Double Gorilla Trekking Tour provides a unique chance to delve into the depths of Uganda’s Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park and meet the magnificent mountain gorillas. You can trek mountain gorillas in both Bwindi Forest National Park and Mgahinga National Park, which are the sole habitats for half of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas.

Day 1: Pick up and Transfer to Bwindi Forest National Park

Your journey commences with a pick-up from your accommodation in Kampala or Entebbe at 7:00 AM, leading you on a picturesque drive through Uganda’s stunning countryside. You will pass by traditional villages, verdant landscapes, and undulating hills. This trip provides ample opportunities for photography and a glimpse into rural Ugandan life. A stop at the equator will allow for a quick photo opportunity and a lunch break before proceeding to Bwindi Forest National Park. Situated in the districts of Kanungu, Kabale, and Kisoro, this park is famous for its rich biodiversity and dense forests. Enjoy dinner and relax at your lodge.

Day 2: Mountain Gorilla Trek and Relaxation

Following a substantial breakfast, you will proceed to the park headquarters for an orientation on the guidelines for gorilla trekking. With your trekking equipment in hand, you will embark on a journey into the thick forest, accompanied by knowledgeable rangers. The trek may extend from a few hours to an entire day, depending on where the gorilla families are located. As you delve deeper into the woods, you will be immersed in the sights and sounds of the natural environment. Upon encountering the gorillas, you will have the remarkable chance to spend an hour observing these gentle giants in their wild habitat. After the trek, you will head back to your lodge to unwind and recount your experiences. Enjoy dinner and rest at your lodge.

Day 3: Second Mountain Gorilla Trek and Batwa Pygmies Visit

After enjoying breakfast, you will head back to the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park Headquarters for a briefing and registration before your second Gorilla Trek.

Here, you can look forward to another opportunity to trek and encounter a different gorilla family, which may be located in the same sector or in another area of Bwindi, such as Buhoma, Ruhija, Rushaga, or Nkuringo. This experience offers a distinct perspective and allows you to observe how various groups of gorillas interact with one another. Spending time with these magnificent creatures on two occasions will certainly enhance your understanding of their social structures and behaviours. After the trek, you will visit the Batwa Pygmies, the forest’s indigenous inhabitants. The Batwa will present their rich cultural heritage, traditional dances, and ancient survival techniques, providing you with insight into their lifestyle. Enjoy dinner and relax at your lodge.

4: Journey Back to Kampala/Entebbe or Kigali and Departure

Savour your breakfast before starting your trip back to Kampala or Kigali. The return drive provides additional chances to appreciate the stunning landscapes of southwestern Uganda. A lunch break will be included during the journey, and you can expect to reach Kampala in the late afternoon. Based on your flight schedule, you will be dropped off either at your hotel or directly at the airport for your return flight.
