Day 1: Kigali City and Journey to Volcanoes National Park.
Your adventure will commence with breakfast at your hotel with your designated safari guide. Follow the briefing on your four-day tour focused on gorillas and golden monkeys. You will embark on an exploration of Kigali city. This city tour will feature visits to key attractions, including the main market, the Kigali Genocide Memorial in Gisozi, and various craft shops.
Drive to Volcanoes National Park, this journey, lasting 2 to 3 hours, with stunning views of the rolling hills of the countryside. Upon arrival, you will check into your chosen gorilla lodge.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking and Visit to Gorilla Guardians Village
Following an early morning briefing at the park headquarters, you will be assigned to a specific Gorilla family, with each group consisting of no more than eight individuals. It is important to note that these gorillas are accustomed to human presence. The duration of the trek can vary significantly; you may spend a few hours or more searching for the gorillas. Once located, you will have one hour to observe them, capture photographs, and gain insights into their behaviors.
After lunch, conclude with a cultural experience at the Gorilla Guardians Village, also known as Iby’Iwacu Village. Here, you will have the opportunity to engage with the local community, witness traditional music and dance performances, and learn about their customs and storytelling practices. After this enriching experience, you will return to your comfortable lodge for the night. Day 3: Golden Monkey Tracking and Twin Lakes Exploration
Start your day with a hearty breakfast before gathering with fellow adventurers for a briefing on the regulations regarding golden monkey tracking. You will then be assigned a park guide who will navigate you through the lush jungles of Volcanoes National Park. This exciting primate tracking experience typically lasts between 2 and 4 hours, including an hour dedicated to observing and photographing the golden monkeys. After this immersive encounter, you can unwind at the lodge.
Following lunch and some time to refresh, we set out to explore the stunning Twin Lakes of Burera and Ruhondo. While visiting these picturesque lakes, you have the option to take a boat ride to one of the islands or enjoy a nature walk that includes birdwatching. After a fulfilling day of exploration, return to the lodge for an overnight stay.
Day 4: Journey Back to Kigali, Rwanda - 2 to 3 Hours Drive
Start your day with an early breakfast and ensure that you have completed your check-out from the lodge. Afterward, embark on your drive back to Kigali, where you will head to Kigali Airport for your departure. This concludes your memorable four-day adventure exploring Rwanda’s gorillas and golden monkeys. This tour includes several key features such as permits for golden monkey and gorilla viewing, transportation with pick-up and drop-off services, a guided city tour of Kigali, accommodation for three nights along with meals, bottled drinking water, and travel in a 4WD vehicle accompanied by an English-speaking guide.
